Clinical Supervision
Are you requiring clinical supervision?
A little about me
I’m an AHPRA Board-approved supervisor with a Clinical Psychology area of practice endorsement. I can act as a primary or secondary supervisor for generalist and clinical psychologists as well as clinical registrars. I completed my original supervisor accreditation through the APS Institute (Australian Psychological Society), and I attend my own regular supervision as well.
In my own clinical practice, I work mainly with adults presenting with a wide range of issues and concerns (more info about me as a therapist here). I have a special interest in supporting people with complex trauma and personality disorders (especially Borderline Personality Disorder), and their loved ones, grief and loss, and so I’m especially passionate about supervising on these topics.
I work using a compassionate, insight-oriented and collaborative approach, sprinkled with humour and creativity. I am trained in a number of different therapeutic frameworks including the following:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Schema Therapy
Internal Family Systems
Compassion Focused Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Interpersonal Therapy
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
Insight Oriented Therapy
Another one of my passion areas is therapist self-care and well-being, to prevent therapist burnout but also to engage in sustainable practice. It can be challenging to learn how to navigate all life’s challenges whilst listening to our inner wisdom and making helpful rather than harmful choices for our health and welfare. I am here to support you.
Depending on your supervision needs, preferences and goals, I am able to tailor an approach that feels right for you.
My supervision philosophy
In supervision, I place a strong emphasis on the ‘self’. In sessions, I offer supervision that is engaging, supervisee-directed, and geared to enhance self-reflective practice, self-awareness and the development of skills and knowledge. I also believe in the importance of providing a space that is safe, supportive and encouraging.
Who can benefit from supervision
I can provide support to:
Interns/registrars

Clinical supervision can be a place for you to:

Reflect, be curious and try new ways of thinking and working as a helping professional

Receive guidance on dealing with organisational issues (e.g. team dynamics)
Discuss ways to prevent compassion fatigue and burnout.
Explore what being in a helping professional means to you

Some of the benefits of clinical supervision include:
Deepening your self-awareness
Connecting to your passion for being in a helping professional
Feeling less isolated
Feeling more skilled
Prioritising your self-care and boundaries as a therapist
Allowing even our “messy” parts room to feel seen
Finding new ways of working with cases
More understanding of your strengths, limitations and blind spots
Being ‘seen’ in a way that we make an effort to ‘see’ our clients
How sessions are run
I conduct supervision sessions in Melbourne and Australia-wide. Most sessions are usually 50-55 minutes, either face-to-face or via telehealth.
I like to begin our supervisory relationship with a collaborative conversation about our roles and responsibilities, supervision needs and goals, and how we can keep track of progress along the way.
Supervision sessions typically begin with setting an agenda. There may be times where you are needing to be guided by resources; where possible, I can gladly assist in sharing resources with you that are relevant to your areas of professional development.
If needed, I am also able to organise longer appointments or group supervision as required.
